(a) In Blount County, in addition to all other fees or costs levied, there shall be taxed as costs the sum of ten dollars ($10) upon conviction in any criminal proceeding arising out of the commission of a misdemeanor or felony. The costs shall be collected in the same manner as other costs in such cases in the respective courts.(b) All funds generated by the provisions of this section shall be paid into the General Fund of Blount County and shall be used exclusively for the maintenance and supervision of the county jail building.(Act 81-643, p. 1060, §§1, 2.)
