Section 45-51-71 - Expense Allowances

(a) Repealed by Act 2022-258, § 2.(b) Repealed by Act 2022-258, § 2. (c)(1) Each member of the Montgomery County Commission, upon approval by the commission by a recorded roll call vote, shall receive an additional expense allowance, in an amount of up to five hundred dollars ($500) per month to be paid out of the county general fund. This expense allowance shall be in addition to any and all other compensation, salary, and expense allowances provided for by law.(2) Effective commencing the next term of office after any expense allowance is approved by the county commission pursuant to subdivision (1), the salary of the members of the county commission shall be increased by the amount of the expense allowance granted pursuant to subdivision (1) and subdivision (1) shall be null and void.(Act 85-550, p. 842, §§ 1, 2; Act 2001-568, p. 1144, § 1; Act 2007-331, p. 587, § 1; Act 2019-262, § 1; Act 2022-258, § 2.)
