The sheriff or chief of police of the respective municipality may revoke any permit if the permit holder or any officer, director, agent, member, or employee of the permit holder violates this article or rules adopted pursuant to this article. The revocation shall become effective 10 days after notice, by certified mail, to the permit holder unless within the 10-day period the permit holder makes a written request for a hearing to the governing body of the respective city. All existing rules and procedures for meetings and hearings before the governing bodies of Hartselle, Falkville, or Decatur, shall apply unless in direct conflict with this article. Following a full hearing and the rendering of a written decision by the governing bodies of the respective cities, either party may appeal the decision directly to the Circuit Court of Morgan County and request a trial by jury. The rendering of a decision adverse to the permit holder by the municipal governing body shall result in the immediate revocation of the permit. (Act 95-363, p. 732, § 9.)
