Section 45-52-233 - Pistol License Fee

(a) In Morgan County, the fee for issuance of a license to carry a pistol in a vehicle or concealed on or about the person as provided in Section 13A-11-75 shall be twenty dollars ($20) and shall be collected by the sheriff prior to the issuance of the license. (b) Of each fee collected, two dollars ($2) shall be remitted to the Morgan County Commission for deposit to the contingent fund of the county and the remainder of the fee shall be deposited to a separate fund entitled sheriff’s department fund to be used at the discretion of the sheriff in addition to other monies allocated for the operation and maintenance of the sheriff’s department. Notwithstanding the provisions of this section, the sheriff’s fund shall in no way reduce the existing or future allocations for the operation and maintenance of the department.
