§ 45-52-71-01

(a) The Morgan County Commission is authorized to appropriate county funds to pay the actual costs of replacing any clothing or equipment to a deputy sheriff, probation officer, or juvenile detention officer of the county that is damaged or destroyed while such officer of the county is engaged in the performance of his or her official duties and acting within the line and scope of his or her authority. (b) Any monies allocated by the commission pursuant to subsection (a) shall be considered on an individual basis and shall be considered as an emergency replacement. Any monies so allocated shall be in addition to, and shall in no way reduce, the existing or future allocations for the operation and maintenance of any department of Morgan County so affected by this section.
