In Pickens County, election officials who work atpolling places are entitled to an additional per diem allowance in such amountsas, together with any amount paid by the state,shall make the total paid to such officials thirty-five dollars ($35) for each daythey work at the polls. If the amountpaid to such officials as compensation or expense allowance by the stateincreases in the future, then the amount paid by the county under this sectionshall automatically decreasein like amount. The expense allowanceprovided for in this section shall be paid from the general fund of the county.(Act 89–432, p. 913, § 1.)
