(a)(1) In addition to all other court costsauthorized in Pickens County, a service of process fee of twenty-five dollars ($25) shall be collected for service or attemptedservice of processon each document requiring personal service of process by the sheriffin all cases filed or pending in the district court or the circuit court ofPickens County.(2) The serviceof process fee collected by the circuitcourt clerk for a case filed or pending in either courtshall be distributed as follows:a. Five dollars ($5) to the circuit clerk’sJudicial Administration Fund.b. Twenty dollars ($20) to the Sheriff’s Law EnforcementFund for the law enforcement purposesof the sheriff’s office.(3) The Stateof Alabama, its political subdivisions, and their instrumentalities are exempt from thiscost.(b) The fees deposited into the Sheriff’s LawEnforcement Fund are in addition to, and do not diminish, offset, or take theplace of any other cost or fee that is disbursed to the sheriff or the countyjail.(Act 2023–294, § 2, eff.
