Section 45-54-232 - Fee; Sheriff’s Pistol Permit Fund

(a) In Pickens County, the fee for issuance of a permit to carry a pistolin a vehicle or concealedon or about the person as providedin Section 13A–11–75, shall be twenty dollars ($20),which shall be collected by the sheriff.(b) The fees collected under this section shall be deposited by the Sheriffof Pickens County in any bank located in Pickens County selected by the sheriffinto a fund known as the sheriff’s pistol permit fund.(c) The sheriff’s pistol permit fund as provided in this section shall bedrawn upon by the Sheriff of Pickens County or his or her appointed agent andshall be used exclusively for law enforcement purposes in the public’s interestand in the discharge of the duties of the sheriff’s office as the sheriff seesfit.(d) The establishment of the sheriff’s pistol permit fund as provided inthis section and the use of the funds shall in no way diminish or take theplace of any other source of income established for the sheriff or theoperation of his or her office.(Act 95–172, p. 234, §§ 1–4.)
