§ 45-54-242-04

(a) All revenues arisingfrom the taxesherein levied shallbe used exclusively and solely for the publicpurposes in Pickens County, including the acquisition by purchase, lease, or otherwise, and the construction, equipment, operation, and maintenance of public hospitalfacilities, or any one or more such purposes.The revenues paid to Pickens County Hospital Association shall be applied by it solelyfor the following public health purposesand in the following order: (1)Payment of the principal of and interest on any securities at any time issuedby it for payment of costs of acquisition, by purchase, lease, or otherwise, construction and equipment of public hospital facilities inthe county, including particularly, but without limitation, any securities issued byit for the purpose of paying the costs of acquiring, constructing, and equipping apublic hospital facility in or near the Town of Carrollton, Alabama; and (2) to the extent that the revenuesare in excess of the amount required for payment of such principal andinterest, for payment of the costs of operating and maintaining the publichospital facility.

The revenues,including any revenues on hand after May 1, 1995, previously earmarked forpublic health purposes, shall be paid to the Pickens County Commission anddeposited in the county generalfund and appliedby it for public purposesin the county.(b) The term Pickens County Hospital Association, whereverused in this subpart, mean that certain public corporation organized in PickensCounty under Act 211, enacted at the 1945 Regular Session of the Legislature ofAlabama, and heretofore designated, pursuant to procedures provided for in Act 640, enacted at the 1949 Regular Sessionof the Legislature, as the agencyof the county to acquire,construct, equip, operate,and maintain publichealth facilities.(c) The term public health facilities or the term publichospital facilities includes public hospitals, public clinics, health centers,and nursing home facilities for the housing and training of nurses, and anythereof.(d) The termpublic health purposes or the term public hospital purposes
