Section 45-54-81 - Additional Court Costs; Disposition of Funds

In Pickens County,in addition to all otherfees, there shallbe taxed as coststhe sum of five dollars ($5) in each civil or quasi-civil action at law, suitin equity, criminal case,quasi-criminal case, proceedings on a forfeited bail bond, orproceedings on a forfeited bond given in connection with an appeal from ajudgment or conviction in the Circuit Court of Pickens County, or the DistrictCourt of Pickens County, hereinafter filed in or arising in the CircuitCourt of Pickens County, orthe District Court of Pickens County, or brought by appeal, certiorari, orotherwise to the Circuit Court of Pickens County, or the District Court ofPickens County, which costs shall be collected as other costs in such cases arecollected by the clerk, or ex officio clerk, of the courts or the Register ofthe Circuit Court of Pickens County, as the case may be. The fees, when collected by the clerksor other collection officers of the court, shall be paid into the county fund to beadministered jointly by the sheriff and countycommission for salaries,equipment, and other expenses of the sheriff’s department.(Act 82–291, p. 361, § 1.)
