Section 45-55-102 - Appointment of Superintendent

(a) The Pike County Board of Education shall appoint thecounty superintendent of education pursuant to the general law of the state. (b) This section shall apply at the expiration of the term of office of the current county superintendent ofeducation or upon any vacancy occurring in the office ofthe county superintendent of education before the expiration of his or her current term of office.(Act 2004–276, p. 382, § 1.)
