The Pike County, Commission shall employ a countyengineer who shall be a thoroughly qualified and competent civil engineerpossessing all of the qualifications as specified for county engineers underthe general laws of the State of Alabama;who shall devote his or her entire time and attention to themaintenance and construction of the Pike County public roads, highways,bridges, and ferries; and who shallreside in Pike County during his or her employment.(Act 88–894, 1st Sp.
