Section 45-55-231 - Pistol Permit Fee

(a) In Pike County, the fee for issuance of a permit tocarry a pistol in a vehicle or concealedon or about the person as providedin Section 13A–11–75, shall be twenty dollars ($20) per year, which shall be collected by the sheriff.(b) Ten dollars ($10) of each fee collectedunder this sectionshall be paid tothe county treasury and the remaining ten dollars ($10) of each fee shall bedeposited by the Sheriff of Pike County, or agents of the sheriff, in any banklocated in Pike County into a fund known as the sheriff’s fund.(c) The sheriff’s fund provided for by this section shallbe drawn upon by the Sheriff of Pike Countyor appointed agentand shall be used exclusively for law enforcement purposes and in the discharge of thesheriff’s office as the sheriff sees fit.(d) Theestablishment of the sheriff’s fund, as provided in this section, and the useof funds shall not diminish or take the place of any other reimbursement orother source of income established for the sheriff or the operation of theoffice of the sheriff.(Act 95–414, p. 903, §§ 1–4.)
