(a) In Pike County, the Chair of the Pike County Commission shall beelected from the membership of the commission at the first meeting of thecommission after May 10, 1993. Thechair shall serve until the first meeting of the commission in November of1993. Thereafter, annually in themonth of November, the Pike CountyCommission shall elect a chair to serve for one year. Nothing in this section shall be construed to prevent a chair ofthe commission from seeking consecutive terms.(b) The person elected as chair shall receive an annual salary of fivethousand dollars ($5,000) payable in the manner prescribed by the countycommission. The salary received bythe chair shall be in addition to the salary for commissioner as compensationfor serving as Chair of the Pike County Commission.(Act 93–382, p. 658, §§ 1, 2.)
