(a)(1) In addition to any court costs now or hereafter authorized to becollected, there shall be assessed an additional court cost of thirty-fivedollars ($35) in all civil cases filed in the district or circuit court of PikeCounty, excluding cases filed in small claims court. (2) In addition to any court costs now or hereafterauthorized to be collected, there shall be assessed an additional court cost ofthirty-five dollars ($35) in all criminaland quasi-criminal casesbrought in the municipal, district, or circuit courts of Pike County.(b) All costs assessed pursuantto this section shall be collected by the court clerk as other court costs arecollected and distributed to the county for deposit in a specialfund designated as the jail fund. All monies paid into the jail fund shall be expended by thecounty exclusively for the payment of the costof maintaining, repairs,and operating the county jail or jail complex.(Act 2017–333, p. 588, §§ 1, 2.)
