Section 45-55-81 - Recording Fees

(a) In Pike County, a fee of five dollars ($5) per pageshall be charged and collected for filing and recording documents in thefollowing books: Deed, mortgage,liens, judgment, and lis pendens. Additionally,a special indexing fee of two dollars ($2) shall be charged and collected oneach instrument to be recorded in the books listed above. No instrument shall be received for record in the office of the judge ofprobate unless the recording fee of five dollars ($5) per page, the indexingfee of two dollars ($2) per instrument, and taxes, as required by law, arepaid. It is intended that no othercharges shall be collected on above named instruments. All special indexing and recording fees collected under thissubsection shall be deposited in the county general fund.(b) A special indexing fee of two dollars ($2) shall becharged and collected by the judge of probate on each financing statement filedwith the judge of probate. Thespecial indexing fee shall be in addition to all other taxes and other chargesrequired by law to be paid for filing for record, financing statements.
