The judge of probate may provide for the installation and thereafterfor the maintenance of an improved recording, archiving, and retrieval system in the probate office of Pike County. The initial installation of the improvedrecording, archival, and retrieval system shall include the following: (1) The acquisition of the equipment for an improved recording, archiving, and retrieving system.(2) The establishment of procedures for the continued recording, archiving, and retrieving of all instruments and records that, after the effectiveinstallation date, shall constitute a part of the improved recording, archiving, and retrieving system.(3) The initial installation of the improved recording, archiving, andretrieving system shall be performed by a person or persons, firm, orcorporation engaged in the records management business and experienced in settingup county recordsand shall be supervised and inspected by a person who isexperienced in handling records pertaining to abstracts or titles. Followinginstallation in the county, the improved recording, archiving, and retrieving system shall be thereafter maintained in the countyand all n handling records pertaining to abstracts or titles. Followinginstallation in the county, the improved recording, archiving, and retrieving system shall be thereafter maintained in the countyand all real propertyinstruments, general propertyinstruments, personal property instruments, and otherdocuments and records herein provided to constitute a part of the system, thatmay be thereafter filed for record in theprobate office of the county shall be in accordance with the improvedrecording, archiving, and retrieving system.Each real propertyinstrument and each personal property instrument shall be operative as arecord from the time of its delivery to the judge of probate of the county, inaccordance with existing law, including, without limitation, Section 12–13–43.(Act 2003–155, p. 458, § 3.)
