In Randolph County, vacancies in municipal offices nototherwise provided by law and in the county offices of sheriff, countysuperintendent of education, county commissioner, tax collector, and taxassessor shall be filled by appointment of the Governor or by a specialelection called by the Governor when 50 percent or more of the term of theoffice is remaining at the time of the vacancy.(Act 80–291, p. 405, § 1.)
