(a) Effective January 1, 2013, the Sheriff of RandolphCounty shall receive an additional expense allowance payable from the generalfund of the county in the amount of five hundred dollars ($500) per month,which shall be in addition to all other expense allowances, compensation, orsalary provided by law.(b) Effective beginning the next term of office, theSheriff of Randolph County shall receive the same salary as the first step ofthe salary range for the Circuit Clerk of Randolph County payable monthly fromthe general fund of the county and subsection (a) shall be null and void. Any newly elected or appointed sheriffshall initially receive a salary at Step 1 of the circuit clerk’s compensation scheduleand shall thereafter receive annual raises in the samemanner as provided in the circuit clerk’s compensation schedule.(Act 2012–367, p. 919, §§ 1, 2.)
