(a) In Randolph County, the fee for issuance of a permit tocarry a pistol in a vehicle or concealed on or about the person as providedin Section 13A–11–75,shall be twenty dollars ($20), which shall be collected by the sheriff. Notwithstanding the foregoing, the sheriffmay waive the fee for any active law enforcement officer or any retired lawenforcement officer who retired in good standing.(b) Any and all monies collected under subsection (a) shall be deposited bythe sheriff in any bank located in Randolph County selected by the sheriff,into a fund known as the Sheriff’s Law Enforcement Fund.(c) The Sheriff’s Law Enforcement Fund shall be drawn upon by the sheriff, his or her appointed agent, andshall be exclusively for law enforcement purposes in the public’s interestand in the discharge of the sheriff’s office as the sheriff sees fit.(d) The establishment of the Sheriff’s Law Enforcement Fund and the use ofthe funds shall in no way diminish or take the place of any other imbursementor other source of income established for the sheriff or the operation of hisor her office.(Act 89–446, p. d and the use ofthe funds shall in no way diminish or take the place of any other imbursementor other source of income established for the sheriff or the operation of hisor her office.(Act 89–446, p. 923, §§ 1–4; Act 2011–327, p. 602, § 1; Act 2013–323, p. 1139, § 1.)
