The Revenue Commissioner of Randolph County may takethe necessary action to merge the budgetary operations and functions of his orher office. The expenses of the officeshall be financedon a pro rata sharebasis from the proceeds of any state, county, and municipal ad valorem taxes collected in thecounty in the same manner as the salary of the revenue commissioner is paidpursuant to Section 40–6A–2. Anyfunds retained pursuant to this section shall be used solely for the operationof the office of revenue commissioner subject to approval of the budget for theoffice by the county commission in the same manner as the budget is currentlyapproved.(Act 2001–408, p. 519, § 1.)
