01Eligible Volunteer Fire Departments.The Legislature declares that eligible volunteer firedepartments and the Russell County Firefighters Association that receive fundspursuant to this article are nonprofit organizations which are public innature, as they protect the health, safety, and welfare of the residents of thecounty.(Act 2015–523, 1st Sp.
