As used in this article the following words shall mean the following,unless the context clearly indicates otherwise: (1) BINGO. The game, commonly known as bingo, where numbers or symbols on acard are matched with numbers or symbols selected at random.(2) BINGOSESSION. A consecutive period of time not to exceedfive consecutive hours during which bingo is played in a given day and not toexceed two days in a given week, except for special permit holders.(3) LOCATION. A single building, hall, enclosure, or outdoor area used for thepurpose of playing bingo pursuant to a permit or license issued under thisarticle.(4) PERMITHOLDER. A qualified organization or qualified club which has apermit or license pursuant to this article.(5) PERSON. Any human being, corporation, association, or other legal entity.(6) QUALIFIEDCLUB. A private club with annual membership dues of three hundred dollars ($300) or more. (7) QUALIFIEDORGANIZATION. A bona fide religious, educational,service, senior citizens, fraternal, or veterans’ organization which qualifies as an exempt organization under Section 501(c) of the Internal RevenueCode and operates bona fide religious, educational,service, senior citizens, fraternal, or veterans’ organization which qualifies as an exempt organization under Section 501(c) of the Internal RevenueCode and operates withoutprofit to its members and, except for special permit holders issued pursuant toSection 45–57-150.03, which has been in existence continuously as thatorganization for a period of five years and which has owned or leased realproperty in Russell County for at least five years immediately prior to makingapplication for operating bingo in Russell County.(8) SPECIAL PERMIT HOLDER. One who holds a valid permit for a special occasion as provided by Section45–57–150.03. (Act 96–613, p. 966, § 1.)
