11Permit Revocation.The sheriff, for good cause shown, may revoke anypermit if the permit holder or any officer, director, agent, member, oremployee of the permit holder violates this article or rules adopted pursuantto this article. The revocation bythe sheriff shall become effective 10 days after proper notice by the sheriffto the permit holder unless within the 10–day period the permit holder makes awritten request for a hearing to the county governing body. All existingrules and procedures for meetings and hearings before the county governing body of RussellCounty shall apply unless in direct conflictwith this article. Following a full hearing and the renderingof a written decision by the county governing body, either party may appeal thedecision directly to the Circuit Court of Russell County and request a trial byjury. The rendering of a decision adverse to the permit holder by themunicipal governing body shallresult in the immediate revocation of the subjectpermit.(Act 96–613, p. 966, § 12.)
