§ 45-57-170

The regulation of the accumulation and storage of junkand other litter, including, but not limited to, used tires and any abandonedor burned out manufactured home or mobile home, within the unincorporated areasof Russell County, and permitting the operation of junkyards and similar establishments within the unincorporated areasof Russell Countyis declared to bein the public interest and necessary to promote the public safety, health,welfare, convenience, and enjoyment of public travel; to protect the public investment in public highways; to preserve and enhance the scenic beautyof lands and the environment; and topromote the conservation of natural mineral resources by encouraging recycling. The Legislature finds and declares thatwithin the unincorporated areas of Russell County the accumulation andstorage of junk and other litter including, but not limited to, used tires andany abandoned or burned out manufactured home or mobile home, and the operationof junkyards, any of which do not conform to the requirements of thissubpart, are a public nuisance.(Act 98–596, p. 1308, § 1; Act 2005–150, p. 266, § 1; Act 2009–597, § 1.)
