25Clerks and Assistants.The commissioner of the motor vehicle license divisionalso may employ a sufficient number of clerks and assistants properly toperform the duties of the office. Thedeputy director, clerks, and assistants shall be employed subject to theapproval of the county governing body, and their compensation shall be fixed bythe county governing body and paid out of the general fund of the county in thesame manner as the salaries of other county employees are paid.
