01Receipt of Badge and Pistol Upon Retirement.(a) Any individual employedby the Russell County Sheriff’s Office as a lawenforcement officer for a period of 10 years or more who retires from thedepartment in good standing, including a supernumerary sheriff,may receive from the sheriff,at his or her discretion, without cost, a retired badge and a pistol, providedthe pistol is furnished by the department. (b) This section shall have retroactive effect to anyaction taken prior to May 16, 2012. (Act 2012–452, p. 1269, § 1.)
