County Commissioner Duties.(a) There is created a county commission for RussellCounty, consisting of seven members, one to be elected from each of the sevendistricts apportioned by law. Each member shall be a resident of thedistrict he or she is representing and shall hold office for a period of fouryears and until his or her successor is elected and qualified.(b) The county commission and county commissioners shall have all thejurisdiction, duties, and powers which are now or may hereafter by law bevested in the county commission or county commissioners by the state.(Act 97–680, §§ 1, 2.)
