05Election Conduct; Canvassing; Declaration of Election Result.The election thereupon shall be conducted, the vote canvassed, and theresult declared in the same manner as provided by law in respect to other city elections. If the majority of the votes shall be ‘‘yes’’ or in favor of the question, the provisions of this subpartshall thereby be adopted for the city, and the mayorshall within five days of the electiontransmit to the Governor,to the Secretary of State, and to the judge of probate of the county in whichthe city is located, each, a certificate of adoption statingthat the questionwas adopted by the city.
