Any municipal corporation which adopts thecouncil-manager form of government shall continueits existence as a body corporate withoutchange in the name of themunicipal corporation. The word cityas hereinafter used shall mean and refer to any municipal corporation which hasadopted the council-manager form of government. The city shall continue as a municipal corporation, within the corporatelimits as then established, and as thereafter fixed in the mannerprescribed by law, subject to all the duties and obligationsthen pertaining to or incumbent upon it as a municipal corporation and shallcontinue to enjoy all the rights, immunities, powers, and franchises thenenjoyed by it, as well as those that may thereafter be granted to it.
