§ 45-57a-63-62

There shall be employed an assistant city manager. The assistant city manager shall performthe duties of the city manager during the temporary absence or temporarydisability of the city manager. Thecouncil may by resolution appoint a qualified administrative officer of thecity to perform the duties of the city manager in the event of the temporaryabsence of the city manager and the assistant city manager.
