(a) The Chief of Police of Phenix City shall keep and maintaina permanent record of allabandoned and stolen personal property recovered by the Phenix City PoliceDepartment. These records shall statethe description of the property, the date of recovery of the property, theserial or other identifying number of the property, and the place of recoveryof the property. The records shall be open to public inspectionat all reasonable times.(b) All abandoned or stolen property recovered by thepolice department shall be stored in a suitable place to protect the propertyfrom deterioration.(Act 2011–590, p. 1321, § 1.)
