(a) The Sheriff of Bullock County may receive an expense allowance in the amount of twelve thousand dollars ($12,000) per annum, which shall be in addition to all other expense allowances, compensation, or salary provided by law paid in the same manner as other county employees or officials, and may be treated as compensation for retirement contributions. This expense allowance shall be payable from the general fund of the county commencing on April 8, 2022.(b) Beginning the next term of office, after April 7, 2022, the annual salary for the Sheriff of Bullock County shall be increased by twelve thousand dollars ($12,000) per annum, in addition to all other expense allowances, compensation, or salary provided by law, payable from the general fund of the county and, at that time, subsection (a) shall become void.(Act 2022-266, §§1, 2.)
