He or she shall hold no other elected or paid public office except as a member of the national guard or naval or military reserve. He or she shall not have been convicted of any crime involving moral turpitude. If any councilman elect or councilman serving as such shall be convicted of a crime involving moral turpitude, or shall enter into any other elected or paid public office, except as a member of the national guard or naval or military reserve, his or her office shall immediately become vacant.
