§ 11-56-790

(a) A person commits the crime of compounding if, unless authorized by AS 12.45.120 or 12.45.130, the person (1) confers, offers to confer, or agrees to confer a benefit on another in consideration of that other person's concealing an offense, refraining from initiating or aiding in the prosecution of an offense, or withholding evidence of an offense; or (2) accepts or agrees to accept a benefit in consideration of concealing an offense, refraining from initiating or aiding in the prosecution of an offense, or withholding evidence of an offense. (b) Compounding is a class A misdemeanor.
