§ 12-25-035

A state trooper may arrest a person without a warrant for a misdemeanor or for the violation of an ordinance when (1) the officer has reasonable grounds to believe that the person to be arrested has committed a misdemeanor or has violated an ordinance; (2) personal or property damage is likely to be done unless the person is immediately arrested; and (3) there is no known judicial officer empowered to issue a warrant within a radius of 25 miles of the person to be apprehended.
