(a) When a defendant is convicted of a sex offense or child kidnapping by a court of this state, the written judgment must set out the requirements of AS 12.63.010 and, if it can be determined by the court, whether that conviction will require the offender or kidnapper to register for life or a lesser period under AS 12.63. (b) In this section, 'sex offense' and 'child kidnapping' have the meanings given in AS 12.63.100.
