(a) Before performing their respective duties, military judges, general and special court-martial members, trial counsel, defense counsel, reporters, and interpreters shall take an oath or affirmation in the presence of the accused that they will perform their duties faithfully. (b) The form of the oath or affirmation, the time and place of taking, the manner of recording, and a determination of whether the oath or affirmation shall be taken for all cases in which the duties are to be performed or for a particular case, shall be prescribed by rules of procedure. The rules may provide that, if a person takes an oath or affirmation with respect to a duty, the person need not take the oath or affirmation again on detailment to the duty. (c) A witness before a court-martial shall be examined under oath or affirmation.
