(a) The lien created by AS 34.35.435 - 34.35.445 is not operative for more than six months after the lien is recorded and indexed, unless suit to enforce the lien is brought before the proper court within that time or if a credit is given, six months after the expiration of the credit. (b) A lien does not continue in force for more than one year from the stopping of the work by an agreement to give credit.
