§ 04-11-420

(a) A person may not be issued a new license, endorsement, or permit or transfer a license or a license with endorsement to a new location in a municipality if a zoning regulation or ordinance prohibits the land use unless a variance of the regulation or ordinance has been approved. (b) The municipality shall inform the board of zoning regulations or ordinances that prohibit the sale or consumption of alcoholic beverages. (c) Notwithstanding (a) of this section, a license may be renewed if (1) the license was issued before the effective date of a change to a local zoning regulation or ordinance that would prohibit the renewal; and (2) at the time the license was issued, the license conformed with local zoning regulations and ordinances.
