(a) Alaska Wild Salmon Day is established on August 10 of each year to celebrate the enormous bounty that the following wild salmon bring to the state every year: (1) chinook, also known as 'king'; (2) sockeye, also known as 'red'; (3) coho, also known as 'silver'; (4) chum, also known as 'dog' or 'keta'; and (5) pink, also known as 'humpy.' (b) Alaska Wild Salmon Day may be observed by educational and celebratory events, projects, and activities.
