§ 45-68-090

(a) A charitable organization that suffers damages as a result of a violation of this chapter by another charitable organization or by a paid solicitor may bring a civil action against the violator. (b) A person who makes a contribution to a charitable organization or to a paid solicitor that violates this chapter may bring a civil action against the violator. (c) In an action under (a) or (b) of this section, a court may (1) award damages for the violation; (2) enjoin future violations; (3) provide other relief that the court determines is necessary to restore to the person damaged real or personal property that was acquired by the violator by means of the violation; (4) require the violator, under appropriate circumstances, to pay the full attorney fees and costs incurred by the charitable organization or other person bringing the action. (d) A charitable organization or other person who brings an action under this section shall serve a copy of the complaint on the department when the action is filed, and, upon entry of an order or judgment in the action, shall mail a copy of the order or judgment to the department.
