13-3942. Delivery of unclaimed stolen or embezzled property to county sheriff If property stolen or embezzled is not claimed by the owner within six months after the conviction of the person for such theft or embezzlement, the magistrate or other officer having it in custody, on payment of the necessary expenses incurred in its preservation, shall deliver it to the county sheriff, who shall sell such property in the same manner as personal property is sold under execution in a civil action pursuant to chapter 39 of this title, and the proceeds shall be paid into the county treasury.
