15-1639. University recruitment and retention program for economically disadvantaged, minority and underrepresented student populations A. The three universities under the jurisdiction of the board of regents shall each establish a comprehensive plan to initiate new programs and expand existing student recruitment and retention programs directed at economically disadvantaged, minority and underrepresented student populations. The plan shall incorporate at least the following: 1. Programs which are directed at Arizona resident students and which include outreach programs established to work with potential students at the high school level. 2. A program overview which illustrates the coordination between existing and new recruitment and retention programs. 3. Methods for the evaluation of program impact and the establishment of target goals for success. The results of these evaluations shall be reported to the board of regents utilizing a standard format distributed by the board. B. Monies appropriated for this program shall not be used to support remedial course work. C. Students admitted to the universities must meet the admission criteria established by the board of regents.
