23-287. Requiring railroad employee to work longer than sixteen consecutive hours; classification A company operating a railroad in whole or in part within the state which requires a conductor, engineer, fireman, brakeman, telegraph operator or any employee who has worked in his respective capacity for sixteen consecutive hours, except in case of casualty, or actual necessity, to go on duty again, or to perform any work until he has at least nine hours rest, or an officer or agent of such company who violates or permits to be violated any provision of this section, is guilty of a petty offense.
