28-4036. Violation; classification A person who is subject to the financial responsibility requirements of this article and who operates or causes to be operated a vehicle in this state without meeting the financial responsibility requirements of this article is guilty of: 1. A class 3 misdemeanor. 2. A class 1 misdemeanor if the vehicle is involved in an accident in this state.
