32-1334. Inactive status A. A licensed embalmer, funeral director, cremationist or alkaline hydrolysis operator who retires from practicing embalming, funeral directing, cremation or alkaline hydrolysis and who is not currently practicing embalming, funeral directing, cremation or alkaline hydrolysis in this state may request that the department place the person's license on inactive status. The person shall submit the request on a form prescribed by the department and shall pay the applicable fee pursuant to section 32-1309. B. A person who holds an inactive license shall not practice: 1. Embalming, funeral directing or cremation in this state. 2. Alkaline hydrolysis in this state unless there is another individual at the alkaline hydrolysis facility who operates or supervises the alkaline hydrolysis facility and who is licensed pursuant to this chapter. C. A person who holds an inactive license may request that the department reactivate the person's license. If an inactive licensee desires to reactivate a license, the inactive licensee shall submit a completed application on a form prescribed by the department, the applicable fee pursuant to section 32-1309, an attestation that desires to reactivate a license, the inactive licensee shall submit a completed application on a form prescribed by the department, the applicable fee pursuant to section 32-1309, an attestation that the person has completed the required continuing education units, a completed fingerprint card and the prescribed fingerprint background check fee.
