§ 33-101 - Petition to establish landmarks

33-101. Petition to establish landmarks A. A majority of freeholders owning land in any township, as farmers or ranchers, may petition the board of supervisors of the county where the lands are located, requesting a survey of the lands of the township to establish permanent landmarks at section and quarter section corners or lost corner monuments on lands previously surveyed by the United States government. B. The board of supervisors shall, within thirty days after receiving the petition, notify the county engineer to provide for survey of the lands described in the petition and place monuments of durable material at each section and quarter section corner. C. The board of supervisors may authorize private funding for the survey if the county cannot fund the survey.
