41-1607. Correctional facilities for minors; programs A. The director may establish and operate correctional facilities for persons who are under eighteen years of age and who are committed to the state department of corrections. The juvenile inmates shall be kept in a separate section from adult inmates. B. The director shall require juveniles who are committed to the department to participate in the following intensive programs: 1. The functional literacy program established pursuant to section 31-229. 2. An organized recreation and physical training program. 3. A citizenship training program. 4. A labor program pursuant to section 31-251.
