41-276. Notary public commission in effect; authorization to perform electronic and remote online notarizations in effect A. A commission as a notary public in effect on July 1, 2022 continues until its date of expiration. A notary public who applies to renew a commission as a notary public on or after July 1, 2022 is subject to and shall comply with this article. A notary public, in performing notarial acts after July 1, 2022, shall comply with this article. B. An authorization issued by the secretary of state to perform electronic notarization or remote online notarizations in effect on July 1, 2022 continues until its date of expiration. A notary public who notifies the secretary of state that the notary public will be performing notarial acts with respect to electronic records or with respect to remotely located individuals on or after July 1, 2022 is subject to and shall comply with this article.
